A new family member

While I was at the Guild today a member brought in this lovely baby doll as a donation to the Recycle Table.
Isn't she gorgeous? and she looked at me and whispered "will you be my new Mama".
How could I resist?
And by the smile on her face I think she is going to like it here.

Is this what is called a second childhood?

And don't even suggest that Ebony would love it--she has never been interested in dolls.

I was just like Ebony. Not interested at all in dolls. I much preferred pencils, crayons and paper. Now though, I do like dolls. Your little doll is so sweet.

I have seen dolls like these painted to look like real babies. They are dressed in baby clothes too. I am thinking the same thing about you going broody......

I bet you kept her just so you have an excuse to make cute baby clothes! Belated happy birthday to Ebony (she might remember me if she still has the nodding daisy?)

That is such a sweet doll. Will you be making her a lot of new clothes?

My daughter never liked dolls. She thought they were creepy...still does!
